We are seeking to appoint experienced Counsellors to join our Wellbeing Service, which is part of The Student Experience Directorate.
Successful candidates will have an appropriate counselling/psychotherapy professional qualification, be registered with a recognised professional body and hold
professional indemnity insurance. They will have proven clinical experience, ideally in a Higher Education Institutional context.
Appointed role holders will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students’ physical, mental and emotional well-being. Role holders should have experience of providing mental health support to individuals through a variety of mechanisms including time limited individual counselling and single sessions, as well as delivering proactive mental wellbeing activities.
They will also be able to demonstrate a strong track record of working safely and effectively within high-risk situations, and have experience of networking, liaising, and using referral processes, both internally and within the wider context of NHS services and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
Role holders must also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues within the wellbeing team, and key staff across the university.
