Imperial College London has secured funding as part of the Better Futures 3.0 team led by the Greater London Authority, West London Business and Sustainable Ventures. The ICL Better Futures 3.0 Retrofit Accelerator creates a pathway to growth and commercial success for a diverse range of climate startups who are ready to implement and scale up their solutions to the climate crisis across the built environment sector, with a particular focus on decarbonising buildings.

We are looking for a programme officer, ideally with experience of supporting founders of technical startups, to work as our innovation support administrator. The postholder will support the Innovation Lead in delivering our programme for building start-ups and scale ups in the climate solutions space.

What you would be doing:

You will:

  • Provide administrative support with the organisation and delivery of programme events such as webinars, working group meetings, round tables, workshops and panel discussions.
  • Draft meeting minutes, presentations and other written material.
  • Assist with designing and developing visual outputs (graphics, flow charts, relationship diagrams etc) for working group activities under the direction of the Innovation Lead.
  • Maintain good relationships with the 24 cohort members, sending emails and other communications keeping them informed on programme activities, and respond to general queries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Support the Innovation Lead in relationship management of existing network of external stakeholders/specialists that are contributing to the programme including relevant policy makers in the building sector, trade and industry groups and key partners on the project development and construction side working in buildings retrofit. These relationships are a key part of delivering a successful programme.
  • Provide support for the creation of video outputs and other post completion communications material.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills – thinking ahead, prioritising, managing time and developing well-structured processes to deliver work.
  • Good communication and engagement skills.
  • Adaptability – adapting to the demand of the job in order to sustain delivery.
  • Excellent teamwork across a range of people in organisations

What we can offer you:

  • The opportunity to work as part of a unique climate innovation community, supporting green entrepreneurship and the acceleration of startups and SMEs tackling climate change.
  • The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution
  • Sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 38 days off a year)
