Policing in the School of Health & Society

Our School of Health & Society is one of the largest providers of nursing, midwifery, allied health, counselling & psychotherapy and social work education programmes in the UK.  We’re proud of our track record of collaboration with a wide range of industry partners to produce highly skilled graduates with real work experience.

There are four entry routes into Policing, which are validated by the College of Policing. University of Salford delivers three of these routes, including a Professional Policing Degree (PPD). We are also working in partnership with Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to deliver Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) and Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP).

We have the ambition to become a regional, national and international leader in Policing through professional education, development, research and enterprise. As a result, we are a fast-paced environment, looking to develop and strengthen our existing team of Policing Academics.

As well as having a strong relationship with GMP colleagues who are co-located on campus, we have excellent simulation facilities, and an exciting campus masterplan including new buildings, new facilities, and new ways of thinking.
