We are recruiting for an Analytics Lead to work in the Planning Insights & Analytics Directorate at the University of Glasgow. This role reports to the Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and will lead and manage a team of analysts as part of a supportive, flexible directorate at the heart of the University. Our team has a broad base of expertise, spanning everything from data engineering and data governance through to analytics, planning, strategy and policy. We have a strong emphasis on personal development, looking to build rounded analysts equipped with the right range of skills for a satisfying career in insight and data. The role will draw on a highly analytical set, experience of data visualisation and an interest in data science to deliver and lead on the key analytical priorities of the University. The successful candidate will be a great communicator and a phenomenal problem-solver, delivering both through their immediate team and through broader collaboration. They will lead on the analysis and dissemination of key publications, internal and external data that report on institutional performance, and aid in the development of actionable insights. They will play an active leadership role in the University of Glasgow data community of practice, responsible for keeping up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods, and building supportive networks across the wider data community and beyond.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues in data engineering, data governance and strategic planning to shape an analytics service that meets the needs of stakeholders, the directorate and the wider University community. They will contribute directly, responding to hands-on analytical questions and shaping and developing best practice approaches and processes, as well as supporting the work of their team. Furthermore, they will collaborate and share best practice across Planning Insights & Analytics, with a keen eye on data quality assurances and robust processes.

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and is offered on an open ended basis (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
