We are looking for a Business Analyst to join the Strategic Project Delivery team at the University of Essex. The team is part of Digital Innovation and Technology Services (DITS) supporting the delivery of exciting system enhancement projects at the University of Essex. Duties of the Role
As part of the dynamic Strategic Project Delivery team, you will provide project support to all departments and professional services across the university. You will be encouraged to be curious by exploring new ways of thinking, pushing boundaries and suggestion innovations. The supportive team includes Project Managers, Business Analysts and continuous improvement expertise. The successful team supports many different projects, working with an exciting and diverse group of stakeholders including excellent academics, highly-skilled technical experts and great students. There is a huge variety of work being managed by the team at any given time including technical solution projects, process change projects and large strategic programmes helping to drive forward the University’s ambitious Strategic Plan. This is an exciting time to join the team as we build on amazing work undertaken to date and drive forward new and emerging initiatives.

Who are we looking for?

  • You will have solid practical experience in business analysis tools and techniques.
  • You will have the drive and ability to untangle complex problems in imaginative and creative ways.
  • You will be good at articulating complex ideas and be able to transform complexity into simplicity for different audiences.
  • You will enjoy liaising with stakeholders and use your experience to build solid stakeholder trust.
  • You will have experience of working on complex projects preferably within a digital transformation environment.
  • You will have a solid understanding and demonstrable experience of working in a project environment.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What will you be doing?

  • You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business problems and positively influence outcomes, whilst ensuring alignment with relevant key strategies.
  • You will capture, analyse and document business process requirements.
  • You will assess the business impact of any change or new process requirements identified.
  • Producing clear, precise and high-quality requirements and process documentation.
  • Support stakeholders with User Acceptance testing.

This is a fixed-term position for two years to work on the Academic System Enhancement Programme (ASEP) project.
