The Sheffield Creative Industries Institute at Sheffield Hallam University offers students a practice-led, research-enhanced learning experience. We challenge our students to achieve their diverse potential through sustained experimentation and through critical engagement with social, cultural, environmental and economic contexts. We develop graduates who create positive impact and imagine more equitable and sustainable futures.
We are seeking an inspirational Lecturer to join our undergraduate Fine Art team. You will contribute your professional expertise and understanding of contemporary art practice to enhance our course curriculum, creating transformational learning opportunities and extending the possibilities of our discipline through research and knowledge exchange.
You will be expected to plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning and to manage administrative duties relating to our undergraduate Fine Art course. You will teach in relation to a holistic curriculum which brings together practical making and experimentation, critical and theoretical investigation and an understanding of the varied professional contexts for art practice. You will be committed to inclusive and accessible pedagogic practices in supporting students’ learning.
You will have well developed and current knowledge of the practical, critical and professional issues relevant to contemporary Fine Art and its education. You must have a good Honours Degree in a relevant discipline and a Postgraduate qualification and/or substantial professional experience.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
