About the role
The Bodleian Law Library is one of the largest academic law libraries in the country, and provides services to readers from the University, wider academia, and the legal profession. 

You will join the team that provides the Bodleian Law Library’s reading room services. You will answer directional enquires, help readers to use the online catalogue, and provide initial assistance with equipment that includes printers and photocopiers. You will issue books, and share in book shelving and tidying duties.  Other tasks include showing new readers around the Library, scanning, loose-leaf filing, collecting statistics and helping to administer the inter-library loan service. You will receive training in these tasks if you need it.

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 36.5 hours per week on-site. Your hours of work will be Mondays to Thursdays, 8.45am – 5pm, Fridays 10.45am – 7pm, with occasional Saturday working for which you will receive compensatory time-off-in-lieu.

This role requires regular manual handling and some lone working – full training will be given.

About You
You will have good IT skills, a proven commitment to customer service and experience of working collaboratively with colleagues. You will work carefully and accurately and show discretion when dealing with sensitive information. You will have demonstrable interest in working with legal materials and/or experience working in a library or similar setting is desirable. Good time keeping is essential.
