Based at Chester
The Chester Medical School is an exciting new development within the University of Chester, which delivers a range of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical medicine, medical and biomedical sciences.
The School has an opening for a Senior Laboratory Technician working 14.5 hours per week to manage, develop and support the practical and research elements of our provision. You will help ensure that all facilities and equipment are fully maintained.
You will be educated to Degree level in Biomedical Sciences, BMedSci, Pharmacology, or a related area, and have experience of working in an equivalent laboratory environment, preferably with experience of biomedical sciences and/or pharmacology techniques. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to manage and work as part of a team delivering biomedical technical support to the users of the School laboratories. You will also be computer literate and numerate.
You will possess significant experience within a technical role, demonstrate attention to detail, and the ability to lead and prioritise your own and the work of others, using resources effectively. The ability to work effectively with others and solve problems in line with procedures is required.
The successful candidate will have significant experience, and proficiency in biomedical/cell biology/molecular techniques, particularly, tissue/cell culture, flow cytometry and PCR. Knowledge of the HTA will be advantageous.
