MBSE offers a framework for considering all aspects of a requirement, and its solution, in a logically integrated way that can persist and evolve through the whole lifecycle of a solution or product. As such, there is huge potential for effectively and efficiently tackling the real-life complexities of problems. However, this potential is most often not unlocked.
Frazer-Nash is a leading systems, engineering and technology company that helps organisations deliver innovative engineering and technology solutions to make lives safe, secure, sustainable, and affordable. Co-funded by Frazer-Nash and EPSRC, this project will focus on developing an end-to-end MBSE process that includes considerations of safety and certification leading to more speedy assurance; the research will consider both technical and non-technical challenges associated with project deliverables.
The project is suitable for students who have a STEM background. The programme includes formal teaching in model-based systems engineering from Loughborough Systems Engineering experts and industrial leaders. Throughout the duration of the programme, the student will be hosted at one of Frazer-Nash’s office locations for the majority of their time. This will provide the student with a suitable working environment, access to necessary infrastructure, and opportunities for interaction with stakeholders.
By completing the EngDoc programme, you will become a future thought leader in a demanding engineering field.
A minimum of an upper-class honours degree (2:1) or overseas equivalent in a STEM subject area, or equivalent relevant industrial experience.
