Specifically, you will be working on a new mixed-methods study to understand the scale, impact and care trajectory for patients who have a long lie after a fall. You will conduct and analyse surveys and interviews with ambulance, hospital and care home staff to understand how they currently manage patients who have had a long lie. You will conduct and analyse interviews with ambulance patients who have had a long lie and analyse findings to understand how patients with a long lie can be better managed. We are looking for someone with a PhD or Masters in a health/social care-related area e.g. public health, research methods, with experience of undertaking and analysing qualitative interviews and statistical analysis and excellent time management skills. Prior experience of working with patients or NHS staff would be advantageous. The post is based in the School of Medicine and Population Health at the University of Sheffield, which encompasses some of the leading health services research groups in the UK.
