The Post
The Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) is seeking an ambitious individual with clinical trials data management experience to join its Information Systems and Data Management (ISDM) team as a Data Specialist. With a diverse portfolio of clinical trials and close-knit team, this is an exciting time to join a growing and forward-thinking trials unit.

Data Specialists at ExeCTU take the lead role in the design, development and testing of electronic clinical trial data capture databases during study setup. ExeCTU uses REDCap as its primary tool for data capture and data management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable skills and experience in developing and maintaining study databases in REDCap, or an equivalent system, and have a commitment to ensuring data quality and integrity. They are also a key member of the trial team supporting the subsequent data management activity, helping to maximise the quality and completeness of trial data collected to answer important health and social care research questions.

The Data Specialist will need to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team consisting of ISDM colleagues, other CTU colleagues such as trial managers and statisticians, and with external investigators and their research teams. The Data Specialist is typically assigned to multiple studies as the main contact for data management activities. They will also assist on other studies and ISDM activities where required.
