Peninsula Technology Assessment Group (PenTAG) wishes to recruit a Research Fellow in Modelling for Health Economics and Public Health to support and lead health economic modelling aspects of health technology assessment projects; project management and leadership. 

Full information on the post can be found within the Job Description but briefly, as a modeller within PenTAG, you will support cost effectiveness-related aspects of HTA projects for NICE, including appraisal of health economic evaluation; appraisal and manipulation of economic models, and development of economic models denovo. You will have a role in generating evidence about the cost effectiveness of health technologies. In due course, you will be supported to undertake project management of HTAs alongside senior postholders in PenTAG.

You will have a role to play in joining and developing grants and publications relating to HTA across a range of topics, both clinically oriented and public health-oriented. Supported by senior postholders in PenTAG, you will develop an independent profile of publications in health economic modelling, HTA and public health.  If you do not have a PhD, these publications will potentially form the basis of a PhD by publication.  You should have an interest in a substantive or methodological area relevant to health economic modelling, HTA and public health, as evidenced by publications.

This full-time post is available immediately on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2027.

About you
The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in health economic modelling and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required.
