We are now looking for a Head of Market Insight to join our Marketing team at our Swansea campus, on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

THE ROLE

To develop and deliver a market insight service that will inform and advise strategic decision making on the University’s academic portfolio, market opportunities and marketing campaigns.

To lead and develop a customer-focused, evidence-based, market insight framework, that informs tactical planning and delivery across marketing and recruitment. This framework will be based on audience insight, sector data and competitor analysis derived from primary and secondary research (qualitative and quantitative). 

In addition to being a subject matter expert in the field of market insight, the role holder will be a senior manager within the wider directorate and will lead, manage and take decisions which will impact both on their professional service area and the wider University.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree level qualification or significant relevant work experience.
  • Professional qualification in market research or another related field.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing strategies at a senior level that are relevant to this role and can evidently benefit the marketing and recruitment work for the University.
  • Experience of working at a senior level with senior stakeholders using influence to clearly inform and shape decisions to underpin organisational strategy and strategic plans.
  • Extensive experience of analysing information to produce meaningful insights.
  • Significant experience of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of information analysis and predictive modelling.
  • A good understanding of ROI measurement techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with clear evidence of effective presentation skills, report-writing skills, people management skills and the ability to converse authoritatively and persuasively with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, and to organise and prioritise own work and that of others to meet planned milestones.
  • Experience of leading intelligence, analysis and reporting, overseeing a high performing analytical team.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful staff management and team leadership.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, in partnership with others.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and foster a culture of information-sharing.
  • Able and prepared to work flexibly, including travel between campuses and other locations when required.
  • Experience of effective budget

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Member of the Market Research Society.
  • Previous experience of working in Higher Education.
  • Working with stakeholders in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to understand sector and market trends.
  • Experience of developing strategic business plans for their functional area.
  • Welsh language is desirable for this role.
