We are currently undergoing a number of transformative changes within our organisation to support our people's objectives. This is a key role in providing strategic leadership for Employee Relations to align with the University’s broader strategic priorities and delivery of our HR Strategic Operational Delivery plan

Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, you will be part of the HR Senior Management Team leading the development and implementation of employee relations strategies, policies and programmes. You will collaborate with the HR team to support a continuous organisational performance improvement programme, aimed at achieving the ambition of becoming a high-performing organisation. Additionally, you will work with university colleagues to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. This role is integral to HR's effectiveness and the overall staff and student experience, making a significant contribution to the university’s success.

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

  • Experience in Employee Relations at the senior level and successfully leading and motivating the team
  • Strategic planning and innovative thinking with the ability to handle complex situations
  • The ability to build trust-based working relationships and network with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in positively driving change and improvements to support organisational goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with comfort in public speaking
