About the role
We are looking for a NMR Experimental Officer to join the School of Chemistry. In this role you will take responsibility for the provision of the NMR service in the School with respect to research and teaching activities. You will ensure the service complies, conforms and contributes to the stated aims of the department and the university strategic plan.
Within the research laboratories of the School of Chemistry, you will also provide technical advice and performing technical duties relating to the organisation of laboratory space and access to shared facilities. This will include planning and coordinating repairs and servicing of equipment, storage and disposal of chemicals and consumables, and ensuring compliance, through regular monitoring and safety checks. You will ensure all activity meets Health and Safety standards throughout the area.
About you
You will hold a degree in a relevant scientific subject or have demonstrable evidence of extensive experience in a relevant field. You will be able to demonstrate your expertise in relevant NMR software and have a full understanding of a complex technical or scientific field, specifically in relation to NMR.
