Fixed term for 2 years in the first instance
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the University of Oxford as a Facilities Assistant. The role is spread across 3 sites (Department of Statistics, MPLS Division and the Department of Earth Sciences).
You will join our highly experienced Buildings and Facilities Team and be part of world leading research in the Department of Statistics and Earth Sciences.
Your role will be varied and you will spend time on all three sites during the week. You will carry out general building related duties within the boundaries of the managed sites, carry out general duties as detailed by the Building and Facilities Manager such as reception duties, opening up and locking procedures, general cleaning duties, security related duties, cleaning duties, weekly fire alarm tests and building emergency light system testing. You will assist the Buildings and Facilities Manager in maintaining a high level of service to the building users as required over all 3 sites.
You will have literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE in Maths and English, knowledge of Microsoft Office and email and good interpersonal and organisational skills. You will also have an awareness of health and safety regulations and have previous experience in a customer service environment. A background in Building maintenance and working knowledge of Audio/visual aids and systems is desirable, but not essential.
For this role you will work with the Buildings and Facilities Manager at the Department of Earth Sciences, the Department of Statistics and at MPLS Division in Central Oxford.
