The Opportunity:
We are seeking to appoint a Fashion Design Tutor, to join a team of teaching staff contributing to learning and teaching at undergraduate level. The post places focus on the teaching delivery for fashion design and fashion portfolio across a variety of Undergraduate Courses.
The successful candidate will assist with teaching, assessment and feedback on the courses from the start of the 2024 academic year. The courses have specified learning outcomes and sit within the undergraduate BA(Hons) Fashion programme.
The work will predominantly involve teaching advanced design methods including silhouette development, range planning, tailoring, outerwear and material sourcing across a range of projects and courses at year 3 level. Please note, teaching allocations may be subject to change on a year-to-year basis pending ongoing needs.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in fashion design
- Experience of working in HE at undergraduate level
- Specialist knowledge of contemporary Fashion Design methods, including Portfolio (DesignBook), Fashion Illustration and Fashion CAD – Indesign, Illustrator, photoshop
- Comprehensive knowledge of materials, sustainability, innovation processes and technical skills associated with fashion design
- Extensive experience working as a practicing fashion designer in industry settings
