The NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) Hub delivered by King’s College London & Partners is a centre of excellence for research methodology in Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and is run in collaboration with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, University College London, University of Oxford, and the University of Leeds.

About the role

To support the RSS Manager in the delivery of the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS) Hub delivered by King’s College London & Partners.  The hub is a centre of excellence for research methodology in mental health and neuroscience.  This is a new role for an enthusiastic, efficient, and organised individual who has a background in health, care, or scientific research administration. They will be responsible for all aspects of administration for the Centre, including event management. This will include working closely with the RSS Manager to communicate information effectively across the King’s NIHR RSS partnership including Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, University College London, University of Oxford, and the University of Leeds.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed term contract until 30 Sep 2028.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Graduate qualification in an administrative, scientific or healthcare field
  • Experience of working in a care, health or University Research setting 
  • Project administration skills gained through previous work experience, including event management, financial management, minuting meetings etc. 
  • Able to manage own workload prioritising as necessary to meet deadlines 
  • Able to prepare reports including manipulation of data 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft systems including, Office Applications, Teams etc. 
  • Able to communicate complex information to others concisely 

Desirable criteria

  • BSc in health or science field or equivalent experience in health, care or scientific research administration 
  • Understanding of the Governance and Regulatory Framework for conducting research in the UK 
  • Understanding of the NIHR and their role in UK Research including the RSS network 
  • Able to build effective relationships with stakeholders 
  • Able to identify areas for improvement within own work processes including links with others
