The University of Roehampton is recruiting to the role of Associate Professor Nursing (Adult or Children’s) to join our growing School of Life and Health Sciences. In this role, you will:

  • Will take a professional lead within the nursing and nursing associate curriculum.
  • Play a significant part in teaching nursing and nursing associate students, and those on wider healthcare programmes.
  • Take a leading role in the organisation of education development and delivery, simulated learning and clinical liaison across our range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Contribute to and enhance the teaching and learning, research and knowledge exchange reputation of the School.
  • Be part of a community of academics and practitioners in science and healthcare working inter-professionally to develop and have impact.

The School of Life and Health Sciences is a relatively new provider of healthcare education but has quickly established a reputation for quality and innovation that helps students become successful individuals with rewarding careers, regardless of their background and circumstances. The School is committed to delivering outstanding student outcomes and making a positive impact on society, and have one of the fastest growing healthcare education portfolios in the UK. Our facilities include state-of-the-art clinical simulation facilities and a world-class library.

Within the School, our portfolio of healthcare programmes includes Adult, Mental Health, and Children’s Nursing, Nursing Associate (direct entry and apprenticeship), Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Sports Therapy, and Advanced Clinical Practice. We are very proud of our consecutive NSS results. In 2023 we achieved 96% and 93% positivity scores in Mental Health and Adult Nursing respectively, and in 2024, our recent graduates have placed us 1 st for Adult Nursing and 2nd for Mental Health Nursing in the UK for Assessment and Feedback and Academic Support, and 1st in London for 4/7 of the survey subsections for Adult Nursing. Our student experience is of paramount importance to us, and we thrive on making a difference to society through our inspirational practice and academic endeavour.
