Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation (ELI) (Dubai)

The University of Birmingham opened a campus in Dubai in December 2017, becoming the first global top 100 and Russell Group University to establish a campus in this rapidly developing international education hub. The Department of Management has a collegial culture, with approximately 100 faculty organised across four subject groups: Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Innovation; Procurement and Operations Management; Organisation, Work and Employment; and Business Economics and Policy. Research networks flourish within and across these Groups, with research centres situated in the Department, across the School and connected to the University’s research institutes. The Department has a strong and supportive culture for research and education excellence, with regular seminars, interest groups and a healthy PhD programme. The successful candidate will undertake research of international excellence and contribute to knowledge exchange activities relative to their discipline.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can join us as Associate Professor in ELI to take up the MBA Programme Director role in Dubai. It is highly desirable to have application from candidates with prior experience with programme management. The successful candidate will make significant contributions to the launch of our new MBA programme in Dubai in 2024, as well as to the research, leadership, learning and teaching, and business and community engagement strategy in the Department. The successful candidate will make a substantial contribution to the management, development and delivery of teaching and assessment, whilst enhancing the student experience and employability. Through excellent teaching you will inspire students, and be informed by discipline-based research as well as contribute to the management and administration in Dubai. We are looking for candidates with research expertise and teaching experience in some of the following areas:

• Responsible business
• Leadership development
• Entrepreneurship and innovation

You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline. Having prior experience with an accredited university or institution in the UAE or the Middle East would be beneficial.
