This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing technical team of technicians supporting students at the UAL Creative Computing Institute.
You will provide professional technical expertise, guidance, and advice in the use of woodworking, product development and prototyping, and will support project concepts that are tailored for people of all ability levels from beginners to professors working on innovative research.
Drawing upon your knowledge and experience, you will support students and staff with designing and preparing projects for mixed creative applications, as well as advising them on the best way to achieve their desired outcomes.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe workspace and providing inductions and training in the safe use of a range of machines and tools, as well as developing new inductions and training for all new workshops and equipment.
You will work alongside other technicians and academics within the institute to ensure students are trained in the safe, innovative, and professional use of technical resources.
About you
You will have confident and relevant experience in supporting people in creative computing related uses of woodwork, creative making, product design and development & 2D and 3D design.
It would be desirable to have an applicant with experience of an educational environment and someone confident in supervising others in the use of tools and workshop use.
You will be a creative and motivated individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team and contribute towards developing an inclusive technical environment in-line with CCI’s social mission.
