ARC Wessex is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR), with a remit to support applied health and care research that responds to, and meets, the needs of local populations and local health and care systems. It has four themes: Ageing and Dementia, Healthy Communities, Long Term Conditions and Workforce & Health systems, including projects focussed on Social Care and Mental Health.
We are launching a new programme of work to build capacity & capability in Knowledge Mobilisation across Wessex in collaboration with our health and care partners and have an exciting opportunity to recruit to up to four fellowships. These fellowships will provide the opportunity for individuals interested in Knowledge Mobilisation to support specific knowledge mobilisation projects while also undertaking learning and development to enable academic career advancement. We welcome applicants from health and social care and/or applied health research backgrounds. KM is about getting the “right information” to the “right people” in the “right format” at the “right time”. It consists of activities and outputs that build awareness, disseminate findings and enable use of research.
The post holders will work on specific projects, either in Mental Health or Community Care, to support and enable knowledge mobilisation of identified research project(s)) in the Wessex health & care system, working alongside project delivery and quality improvement teams. They will also undertake a programme of training in knowledge mobilisation.
The opportunity is aimed at individuals with the potential to become leaders in knowledge mobilisation.
For the ERE L6 position, the successful candidate will have: a relevant PhD qualification, a publication track record commensurate with stage of career, well developed communication & relationship building skills, as well as a willingness to build skills in knowledge mobilisation.
For the ERE L5 position, the successful candidate will be a registered health and care professional, have a relevant PhD qualification, a publication track record commensurate with stage of career, well developed communication & relationship building skills, as well as a willingness to build skills in knowledge mobilisation.
We are looking to appoint ambitious individuals with: the confidence and experience to engage with collaborators & stakeholders at all levels of seniority, across different geographies and sectors of the health and care system; and a willingness to work with research partners and others across the NIHR ARC network and our local health and care systems. You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication & writing skills, demonstrate past ability to meet project milestones within agreed timelines and produce work of high quality.
Postholders will be based at NIHR ARC Wessex Office. The employing organisation is the University of Southampton which offers a competitive salary, pension scheme and other benefits. Subject to the agreement of all parties involved, the posts could be offered on a secondment basis.
