The Post

The role holder will lead and manage the development, collection, analysis and reporting of information relating to the activities, finances, outputs, outcomes, and benefits delivered through the University’s City Region and Growth Deal Programme. They will analyse the Programme’s performance and support the ongoing development and operation of the Programme, reporting to the Head of the City Region and Growth Deal Programme, and working with the wider Research, Innovation & Business Engagement Directorate, other Professional Services, and Academic Faculties, developing and leading activities accordingly. They will ensure that the reporting and other information requirements of University and Deal governance are complied with and work as a point of liaison with Deal stakeholders including the Scottish and UK Governments, local authorities, communities, and other delivery partners. They will work closely with all Project leads, the Head of Business Engagement & Development and their team, the Head of Enterprise and their team, the wider Research, Innovation & Business Engagement Directorate, as well as colleagues from Academic Faculties and across Professional Services. The role holder will also have line management responsibility for the Programme’s administration function.

Description of Duties

  • Design, lead and manage the mechanisms to monitor activities from all Projects within the relevant Benefits Realisation Plans and Monitoring & Evaluation Frameworks
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of information, reports, submissions, and responses to meet UK and Scottish Government and other Deal governance requirements
  • Manage the preparation of briefing papers, reports, and other information as required on issues relating to the Programme
  • Lead the development of templates and frameworks to facilitate effective project and programme delivery and to ensure consistent approaches to project planning, financial management, risk management, and other areas of Deal operations

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or employment experience across a range of roles with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Practical experience in a directly relevant role
  • Experience of working successfully within complex regulations/frameworks
  • Competence and experience to design and deliver innovative and accurate methods of monitoring and evidence gathering for reporting purposes
  • Ability to initiate processes and procedures to resolve new problems and challenges, with the ability to anticipate potential implementation difficulties
