It is run by a team of highly motivated University and NHS specialists who pass on their skills and expertise to tomorrow’s generation of health professionals. Be prepared to join them in delivering an exciting and challenging curriculum as well as enhancing it with your own expertise.

This is a full-time, fixed term post (12 months) focused specifically on developing oral health improvement interventions for people with experience of the justice system. The post is attached to a Scottish Government Funded Project. You will be expected to form part of the leadership for the project, taking on significant responsibility for planning and delivery of the project within defined timelines. Expected output from the project will include the development of novel interventions to support the oral health of this population. There will be a focus on developing clinical prevention interventions alongside the updating of existing education/behaviour change interventions within NHS Scotland’s Oral Health Improvement Programme for Scottish Prisons. The project forms the basis for enhancing the programme and will utili ze MRC Complex Intervention methodology. Development of a monitoring and evaluation framework to measure impact of the outputs from the project is an essential component of this post. This project presents an excellent opportunity to be involved in research that is embedded in service delivery leading to direct impact on public health practice.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in seeking external grant funding to support the next stage of this work. The project will provide the opportunity to undertake excellent research, produce high quality publications and/or other equivalent research outputs and demonstrate research impact. The post holder will be key to supporting the School’s strategy for knowledge exchange and strengthening links with communities and the health & social care sector.
