Description of Post

The Assistant Lecturer will deliver modules in the area of Veterinary Nursing.

Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

  • Applicants must hold a qualification in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons UK or equivalent.
  • Must be registered with VCI or RCVS.
  • Three years relevant post-qualification experience.

Desirable

  • A postgraduate qualification at PhD level.
  • Experience of lecturing in a 3rd level environment.
  • Experience in the development of new programmes and curricular development.
  • Experience in the supervision of placements
  • Actively engaged in conducting research.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in teams.
