Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. The role:

Help learners develop their own Welsh language skills through the medium of art and design.

The aim of the residency is to provide opportunities for a bilingual artist/designer to explore their own practice and continuing their development as an artist as well as delivering artist talks and workshops to learners alongside the teams at Gower College Swansea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Artist in Residence programme is flexible and will be developed and defined depending on the art form area and the artist’s level of experience and expertise. There will be opportunities to research, develop and present a work in progress with support, space and time from the college.

  • Give bilingual talks about their work
  • Provide bilingual and Welsh-medium artist/designer workshops
  • Promote the workshops delivered and their own art work produced through the college’s social media networks

About you:

  • Professional qualification or first degree in relevant area or equivalent.
  • Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) grade C or above literacy & numeracy qualification is essential.
  • This post is open to emerging artists/designers who may have recently graduated.
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
