Are you interested in furthering your career at the leading edge of manufacturing? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Sheffield. You will join a diverse team of Engineers, project managers and operational staff to help deliver innovative manufacturing research, with particular responsibility for addressing challenges faced by the defence sector.
Based in the AMRC’s flagship Factory 2050 facility, you will be employed by the University of Sheffield and will hold a key role in progressing the uptake of a range of digital manufacturing technologies by working closely with key collaborators in the UK and internationally. You will have experience in one of IMG’s technical capabilities (e.g. automation, advanced visualisation, AI/ML, mechanical design), but will oversee teams that cover a diverse range of skills and experiences.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with complex defence requirements, maybe in an industrial context, and who isn’t afraid of challenging “the norm”. You might have been working in a related role already or maybe recently completed a degree in a relevant field. What is crucial is the desire to seek solutions to challenging problems, and drive the adoption of new technologies within the manufacturing sector while ensuring that the AMRC’s legal obligations regarding classification are adhered to.
As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to present your work, or further your knowledge, through attendance at national and international events. The AMRC supports professional development, including chartership and training relevant to your role.
