About us 

Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS) is a new £80 million investment into the UK’s heritage science sector. To deliver this exciting new programme, AHRC is developing a RICHeS Infrastructure Headquarters (IHQ) to manage the programme on a day-to-day basis. 

Purpose 

The RICHeS Impact and Engagement Manager will ensure RICHeS works closely with the heritage science community and captures and communicates impacts and outcomes. This role will support access to heritage science facilities and collections, and support RICHeS communication activities. They will maintain the subdomain website to ensure the programme is visible. 

Main outputs and activities 

  • You will manage and provide content for the RICHeS subdomain website, ensuring the site is accurate and current. With the Senior Engagement Manager, you will draft regular news and highlight stories to showcase the impacts and progress of the programme
  • You will support stakeholder engagement, maintaining a good awareness of key funders, organisations, researchers, government bodies and others working in heritage science.
  • You will attend appropriate meetings and conferences, representing the RICHeS programme and opportunities for involvement.
  • You will support the delivery of cohort and community events, such as workshops, visits, and tours.
  • You will support the Senior Impact Manager in overseeing the programme level evaluation, setting up meetings with the evaluation supplier and other interested parties.
  • You will work with the Senior Engagement Manager, Senior Impact Manager and Operations Team to capture data to support project and programme level monitoring. You will answer queries from grant recipients and applicants, particularly around facilities and collections access.
  • You will develop and manage a cohort group of RICHeS Heritage Science technicians (from 2025/26 onwards), to encourage skills and knowledge exchange, peer support, and regular communication between technicians
  • You will work collaboratively and effectively with RICHeS IHQ colleagues, adapting and communicating to ensure shared goals are met and staff feel supported.
  • You will provide secretariat support for RICHeS Programme Board, Scientific Advisory and other high-level meetings. 

Shortlisting criteria 

  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders, including identifying the key organisations and contacts for a particular sector of project
  • Experience of fostering networks, formally or informally between colleagues or other individuals to encourage peer support
  • Experience of delivering or supporting events, workshops, or visits
  • Ability to collect and present data with accuracy and sensitivity
  • Good communication skills, including experience of writing for internal and/or external audiences and providing clear written and verbal information
  • Good team working skills, including collaborating with colleagues to prioritise tasks and maximise resources
