Education and Academic Services
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
We have a full-time post (36.5 hours per week) available immediately on a fixed term basis to cover a secondment until the 31st July 2025.
Summary of the role
The University’s library services underpin research and learning by providing extensive digital and physical academic information resources. Information assistants support this by ensuring that required resources are available for all to use on an equitable basis, helping to provide an excellent service to the whole academic community.
You will be an adaptable team worker and a fast learner, with good communication skills. A confident user of IT, you will be able to work independently and under pressure to a high standard of accuracy and to flourish in a rapidly changing information environment. With excellent customer service skills, you will be liaising with colleagues across the University to ensure the quality of this service. Familiarity with the HE information environment and with bibliographic data, acquired through work or study, will be an advantage.
The working pattern is Monday to Friday, exact hours between 08:00 and 20:00 to be arranged. It could also involve working occasional Bank Holidays and University Closure Days.
Whilst there is an expectation for you to work on campus, this post may include some home working. If you are interested in submitting an application but are concerned about working arrangements, we would welcome you getting in touch.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
