About the Role
We are looking for a Study support coach to support our PMLD and Complex needs department.
The Vine is a department with over 50 Learners with Complex needs and behaviours that can challenge. We deliver a varied Curriculum to meet each of our learners' individual needs in line with their EHCP's. Our highly skilled team takes pride in developing our learners' personal and preparation for adulthood skills to prepare them for their future life. We have strong emphasis on working as a team, offering mutual support and flexibility while striving for the highest standards for our learners. Our ultimate goal is to enable our learners to become as independent as possible and lead a happy fulfilled life.
What You Will Do
You will manage Learning Support Assistants to our PMLD learners aged 16-25
You will support therapeutic , behaviour intervention support, personal care and medical needs.
You will complete assessments and referrals throughout the year.
You will work with the curriculum team to facilitate relevant lesson delivery
You will be responsible for the creation and upkeep of support documents throughout the year.
You will lead on 1-1 interventions
You will support our learners with support and guidance throughout their academic journey by helping to create exciting/relevant resources that can aid in the delivery of the courses within our college.
About You
You will have experience in a Further Education setting specialising in PMLD and complex needs and be able to demonstrate a passion for new and innovative ideas.
You will have current management experience, or be looking for your next step into leadership.
Your experience will include positively managing students to ensure excellent retention, achievement, success and attendance with our cohort of learners.
You will build positive relationships with students and staff using restorative practice techniques, be flexible and a positive role model across our campus.
Your skill-set will also include excellent organisation skills and the ability to provide productive insight into the development of the courses.
