The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Senior Research Fellow. You will have responsibility for managing the qualitative process evaluation of a multi-centre randomised controlled trial of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) to sustain independence for older people living with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and frailty (known as the CHART trial).
The successful applicant will collect, manage, analyse and disseminate qualitative data that includes interviews and written records of intervention delivery. This will involve older people, carers and healthcare professionals.
About you
Applicants will be able to contribute to the development of research strategies; participate in the overall management of the College in areas such as strategic planning, budget management and business planning; plan and deliver research, consultancy or similar programmes and actively seek and secure research funding.
The successful applicant will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience and will be a nationally recognised authority in qualitative research. They will possess in-depth understanding of process evaluation to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field. In addition, the successful applicant will provide academic leadership to research teams, lead and develop internal and external networks and develop links with external contacts in order to foster collaboration and generate income. Applicants will be able to: conduct meaningful patient and public engagement with older people living with frailty and have excellent communication skills with a broad range of audiences using different media and approachesand have previous experience of conducting research with older people conducting research with older people living with frailty.
