An exciting opportunity to join Solent University’s successful Student Achievement Team on a fixed term contract until April 2025 (or until the substantive post holder returns)
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Solent University’s successful Student Achievement Team. As Student Achievement Team Leader, you will manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Student Achievement Team within Student Success. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Student Success (Achievement & Advice) you will design, implement, and supervise the delivery and evaluation of initiatives to improve retention and achievement.
You will work closely with academic schools and other services to identify groups of students at risk and optimise student retention, progression and achievement and will meet with students to assess their academic and pastoral circumstances and identify appropriate support to enable them to succeed.
We are looking for an outstanding individual with a strong understanding of issues relating to retention and achievement in higher education to contribute to the delivery of high-quality support that places student success and achievement at its heart.
The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience and be an excellent leader and communicator, with proven ability to build up professional working relationships with internal colleagues and external agencies. A good understanding of how University academic frameworks, assessment regulations and policies impact the student experience is essential as is a strong understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity. A good understanding of IT systems, data driven support initiatives and effective impact assessment and evaluation is also key.
