Applications are invited for a Research Technician position for a clinical trial in Cancer Immunology. The position will be in the group of Professors Andrew Godkin and Awen Gallimore, based in the Henry Wellcome Building, Heath Park campus.
The post is funded by Cancer Research Wales and the post-holder will work on a project titled: “Brief Intervention with Cyclophosphamide in patients with Colorectal Cancer (CRC) who have completed treatment (BiCCC)”. This project is a clinical trial to give patients with stage II to IVA colorectal cancer a short course of cyclophosphamide to augment anti-tumour immune responses.
The post-holder will provide research and administrative support for clinical research studies with an emphasis on the upcoming clinical trial (BiCCC), help towards the overall research performance of the Cancer Immunology Group, contribute to the general running of the laboratory and manage regulatory compliance required for the analysis of blood samples.
The successful candidate will join groups that use novel immunological approaches to treat patients with cancer and will join our established bench-to-bedside research pipeline.

The post is a part-time (24.5 hours per week), fixed-term position for 15 months and available immediately. Work pattern to be agreed at appointment.
Salary: £32,332 - £34,980 per annum, pro-rata (Grade 5). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
