We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to develop novel stem cell gene therapies for childhood neurological diseases. Your main role will be to develop and improve ex vivo stem cell gene therapies for Mucopolysaccharide diseases. Experience of working with mouse disease models and gene or cell therapy is essential.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
The Opportunity:
The position offers an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated postdoctoral researcher, who wants to be part of a programme of research within the laboratory of Professor Brian Bigger. It is ideally suited to a PhD graduate. The post holder will lead a project to develop novel ex vivo gene therapies, building on existing work and expertise in the Bigger lab and helping to develop new treatments for devastating childhood dementias such as Sanfilippo disease and Hunter disease. The lab has two gene therapies currently in clinical trial, so this is an opportunity to be at the forefront of translational gene therapy for neurological diseases.
