We are recruiting a Grade 4 Technician who will support the core laboratory functions within the Institute. You will be assisting in setting up practicals for the School of Biosciences.
This post is part time (14 hours per week) Days options:
Wednesday: 09:00-17:00 (one hour lunch)
Thursday: 09:00-17:00 (one hour lunch)
Your primary role will be core laboratory support including housekeeping, health and safety, maintenance of equipment, and training of researchers and students on equipment.
Occasionally, you may be required to support other departments within the institute, so a flexible approach to work is essential. A large proportion of the job is core laboratory support, but occasionally, there will be opportunities to provide technical and experimental research support for members of academic staff, as well as high-quality experimental support on a cost-recovery model, but this will be limited. It is important to understand that this role is not a dedicated research technician on a specific research project.
A flexible approach to working is essential.
You must have the knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the biological subject areas (eg. Biological Sciences, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology).
We offer a generous annual leave package plus discretionary University closure days, excellent training and development opportunities, as well as a great occupational pension scheme.
The University of Liverpool is committed to enhancing workforce diversity. We actively seek to attract, develop, and retain colleagues with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We welcome applications from all genders/gender identities, Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, individuals living with a disability, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
You will have a BTEC National Level (or equivalent).
