The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is the biggest UK initiative supporting research to fill the major knowledge gap in our basic understanding of the diseases that cause dementia.
We are a globally leading multidisciplinary research institute of 700 staff investigating the spectrum of neurodegenerative disorders causing dementia, driving a step change in our understanding of neurodegeneration and accelerating the discovery, development and delivery of interventions that will help diagnose, treat and ultimately prevent dementia.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager to join the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) core services team supporting the Centre, which comprises over 100 researchers and support staff of all levels and is still growing.
You will primarily focus on the management and maintenance of the UK DRI’s laboratory spaces, and this will also involve oversight of IT infrastructure and animal care. You will interact with research staff at all levels daily and help facilitate UK DRI research.
The role is available immediately and funded by the UK DRI at UCL until 31 March 2028 in the first instance.
If you need reasonable adjustments or a more accessible format to apply for this job online, or have any queries regarding the application process, please contact the Institute of Neurology HR Team (ion.hradmin at ucl.ac.uk).

You will hold a graduate qualification or equivalent in biological science or other relevant discipline combined with significant experience in best practice laboratory management of science and technology facilities and shared equipment.
In addition, you will know the regulatory requirements specific to the lab environment, have extensive experience in using and maintaining everyday items of laboratory equipment, and have experience in managing health and safety in a laboratory environment.
