A new campus dedicated to arts and creative industries is being established in Hainan, China, with Minzu University of China.  We are seeking an exceptional individual for the role of Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor. 

The new Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor will be committed to the mission of Middlesex University, of putting knowledge into action, and transforming lives through education, and the experiences of our students will resonate with the person we appoint to this post. Candidates will be excited by developing new operating models, and committed to meeting the challenges of reducing the cost base while delivering excellent, service-oriented professional services. They will have a vision for transforming efficiency and effectiveness through digital advances. And they will bring out the best in staff and have a track record of developing high performing teams and nurturing talent. 

Ideal candidates will be experienced senior professional services leaders with a strong track record of strategic leadership and delivering impactful organisational change in a large, complex Higher Education institution. They will have prior experience of overseeing and delivering operational management across a broad range of professional services functions and will be able to point to how they have improved student and user experiences. They will be financially minded and be a natural ambassador and negotiator for the University.
