The role
You will join a dynamic and rapidly evolving team responsible for advising research academics and professional services teams across the University, to ensure collaborative activity is carried out with the highest degree of compliance with relevant legislation.
You will be involved in developing relationships with academic colleagues and will have a key role in providing advice and training to research academics and those professional services staff that support them on a wide range of legal compliance measures including (but not limited to) the following areas:
Your role will have specific responsibilities for developing and managing the University’s compliance with the NPSA/NCSC Trusted Research Evaluation Framework. Part of this will include implementing the internal Assessment of Third Party Suitability Process, designed to align how due diligence of legal, reputational, financial and national security risks are assessed throughout the institution.
Through project review and internal audit functions, you will also be involved in the assessment of academic compliance with legal aspects including (but not limited to):
You will also assist in management and training of new team members, engage with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced and developing area of law, and fulfil a critical function in providing specialist advice on measures created to protect UK national security and infrastructure.
