Infrastructure & Environment supports the study and work of all students and staff through the provision of outstanding services that are customer focussed and professionally and sustainably delivered.
We are responsible for maintaining and developing the campuses buildings and grounds and the provision of customer led services such as campus security, student accommodation, catering, conferencing, nursery provision, and sport. We also provide the digital infrastructure for the University community and support the development and maintenance of IT systems. We also lead the sustainability sub-strategy supporting the Universities goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2035.
Infrastructure & Environment is a section of over 700 staff, is organised into twelve main operational areas and a central Compliance oversight function.
Duties of the Role
To work within the central Compliance function of Infrastructure and Environments ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer led support to the University community through the co-ordination and delivery of communications to the University community and local stakeholders in regard to the section’s operational activities. The post holder will co-ordinate the services provided by the sections within Infrastructure and Environments in relation to University core activities and events such as Graduation, Exams and Welcome week. The post holder will also proactively engage with stakeholders and positively promote the sections to internal and external customers
Skills and qualifications required
The successful applicant will have qualifications or extensive experience in, Microsoft Office together with a degree or equivalent qualification and/or a qualification or relevant training/work experience in relation to communications, event planning and/or project management.
You will have excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven success in stakeholder engagement and developing effective working relationships at all levels within an organisation. Experience of planning and coordinating events and managing the generation and distribution of communication materials to diverse audiences is a key component of the role
Experience of prioritising workload to deal with a range of varied and competing tasks, excellent organisational and administrative skills and a proven ability to be proactive, to solve practical and logistical challenges, to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team are also essential aspects of the role.
