The Position: We’re looking for a Skills & Development Lecturer in Motor Vehicle

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Pastoral and Development Coach to join our team at the Nuneaton campus. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the progress and wellbeing of students within study programmes. Your primary responsibility will be conducting weekly course reviews and engaging in one-to-one meetings to ensure students' academic success and personal growth. You will also be responsible for establishing and reviewing barriers to learning and adapting the delivery of relevant content to meet learner needs.

What skills are we looking for:

  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, or pastoral care within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational skills to effectively manage multiple course review sessions and individual meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to foster rapport and facilitate effective engagement with students.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance that nurtures student growth and development.
  • Familiarity with educational software and platforms for efficient record-keeping and communication.
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated understanding of student development, learning strategies, and effective academic progress monitoring.

Responsibilities for the role:

Duties will include, but not be limited to:-

  • Conduct weekly course review sessions for students within the Automotive study programmes.
  • Identify barriers to learning and plan appropriate strategies to overcome them, ensuring delivery is adapted to meet learner needs.
  • Conduct one to one meetings with students to address their specific needs, challenges, and concerns.
  • Assist students in catching up on assignments, providing guidance and clarifications as needed.
  • Collaborate with students to set realistic academic and personal targets for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct highly effective learner progress reviews that accurately capture the progress of learners against the study programme requirements.
  • Ensure that progress reviews are comprehensive, focusing on academic achievements, personal development, and adherence to the study programme.
