Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.
A vacancy has arisen for a Lecturer on BA (Hons) Fine Art, it is an opportune time to join the course team, as you will be able to make a distinct contribution to this ambitious course. The course offers students a professional understanding of fine art practices (including drawing and painting, sculpture, performance and digital), developing specialist skills within a range of creative careers.
The main focus of the role will be to support Module Leaders in the delivery of the modules across levels 4, 5, and 6. In addition, you will be required to provide support to students using a range of methods and approaches to fine art.
Ideally, you will have the skills or connections to develop links with external employers, live briefs, events and other opportunities for exhibiting student work to offer an excellent student experience.
Working individually and as a member of a team you will be expected to deliver teaching within a variety of settings including workshops, individual tutorials, seminars, and lectures with a large audience.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject, be able to demonstrate extensive specialist fine art skills and support critical thinking, writing and reflective practice.
