GBSH’s MBA Health programme develops future health leaders with academic rigour and practical business skills. The MBA Health programme has been growing rapidly with exceptional students from across the world as it looks to enter its third year. The aim of the MBA Health programme is to provide tomorrow’s leaders with a toolkit for the global health economy – blending informatics, analytics, technology, ethics, policy, sustainability, personnel, finance, enterprise and partnerships, to ensure a multi-perspective approach to complex health challenges.

About the role

We are in search of an experienced programme leader to join us as the Director of this flagship MBA Health programme. The post will be at the Associate Professor (teaching) level. Salary is competitive with our peer institutions worldwide and we are prepared to offer a market salary supplement to ensure it reflects current market conditions, so we recruit an exceptional MBA Health Director. Our MBA Health programme builds on UCL’s tradition of being a disruptor and impactful force for good in society and healthcare.

Our next MBA Health Director will be a crucial figure in shaping the strategy and vision for this worthy programme that educates and trains the next generation of health leaders. Overseeing the MBA Health programme team, this postholder will have the overall management of our MBA Health programme. They will ensure that this programme is delivered seamlessly, offering the highest -quality student experience across the programme. They will focus on delivering an exceptional student experience that prepares these health leaders for the next step in their careers. The ideal postholder will be a proactive, can-do academic with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

About you

You will be required to have a PhD (or equivalent) in an area of business management or a related discipline, or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in work-related experiences. You will have evidence of teaching excellence, experience of teaching on or leading an MBA programme and evidence of programme management including budget management, developing, and operationalising strategy, and experiences managing and recruiting staff.

You will be committed to providing ethical and emotionally intelligent leadership, and to developing colleagues and students. You will have the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and have integrity, high ethical and professional standards in education practice and be able to be an effectively advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Other essential requirements include the ability to communicate effectively in a leadership role and build teams, you will also have experience of curriculum design and innovation and experience of excellence in teaching and student experience within the areas of business, leadership, health or related areas.
