About the role

As a Careers Advisor - Music, you will play a pivotal role in preparing our students and graduates for successful careers in the creative industries. You'll work closely with Careers Managers, academic teams, and trusted industry partners to provide hands-on work experience placements, projects, performances, and productions that enhance employability. This role is based at our London Campus, within close proximity to our students and recent alumni, offering vital advice and guidance to help them navigate their career paths.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver professional career guidance and support to students, ensuring a high standard of service.
  • Collaborate with the Careers Manager to build and maintain a robust industry network for job and internship opportunities.
  • Promote and support creative development programs and freelance opportunities.
  • Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System with candidate, client, and vacancy information.
  • Provide personalised 1:1 support, including CV and cover letter advice, interview preparation, and job matching.
  • Write engaging job advertisements and social media posts to attract candidates.
  • Manage job alerts and shortlist relevant candidates for interviews and auditions.
  • Assist with career events both on-campus and externally.
  • Track and report on student tutorials and key performance indicators.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in all career and enterprise activities.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience in a Careers/Employability role within a higher education setting.
  • Strong understanding of current careers and employability practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a diverse workload effectively.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and skilled in communication.
  • Strong digital literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office.
