The Faculty of History wishes to recruit a Teaching Associate in Modern Political Thought c.1850-1980 (Temporary Cover). This is a 4-month Temporary position to cover the leave of a colleague.

The appointee will have Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching responsibilities and will take on examining duties for undergraduates/graduate students within an established programme of study.

The postholder is expected to plan, prepare and deliver lectures, seminars and classes.

The postholder may also be expected to participate in the Faculty's meetings and undertake some administrative duties in the Faculty.

We are looking for someone with a  PhD in the relevant field, or equivalent demonstrable experience with a proven specialist academic interest, and preferably publications, in the subject area. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a knowledge of pastoral care. Candidates should have some experience of successfully developing and delivering teaching at university level, including both lectures and seminars or smaller group work and have the ability to maintain and develop their knowledge in the subject area.

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term until 31 December 2024 or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
