The UCL Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is UCL’s new Centre for infrastructure and innovation in digital research - the supercomputers, datasets, software and people that make computational science and digital scholarship possible.

We are an innovative hybrid: a professional services department that delivers reliable and secure infrastructure and services to UCL research groups, and undertake research and innovation activities focused on the application of advanced computational and data intensive research methods, working in partnership with academics from all fields.

About the role

Are you a highly motivated administrator with a track-record of supporting research? PRISMs - Professional Research Investment Strategy Managers – is a newly recognised set of roles which focuses on maximising the value of new technologies and digital research-related projects.

This role would initially focus on supporting the ARC Education team, by creating, and updating departmental education website content, organising teaching and learning events, assisting with transcripts. As well as supporting, developing and organising existing and future courses and teaching material. The role will also support student enquiries and administration of ARC courses.

About you

ARC is looking for an experienced, self-driven individual to support a new and growing Department leading in Academic Research and Professional Service delivery.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Deliver high-quality research and administration support
  • Develop good working relationships and build networks to promote research undertaken by the department.
  • Ability to manage and adapt to a varied workload, being able to prioritise against different deadlines.
  • Supporting and championing the Department and University in a range of initiatives; i.e. Green Impact, Wellbeing, and Athena Swan.
