Surrey is made up of many talented individuals who make us a great institution. And working together, and connecting with external institutions, businesses and government, makes us even stronger.
With ambitious fundraising goals, we are already making a significant impact on the future of our university. It’s been two years since we launched our £60m global comprehensive fundraising and engagement Campaign The Future Says Surrey, and we’ve built momentum very quickly and have already made excellent progress.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
We are seeking two dynamic and experienced Fundraisers to join our team. One role is a permanent role and the other is a fixed-term contract 12 month maternity cover position. In both roles, you will be crucial in meeting our annual KPIs and campaign targets. You will maintain and build momentum with our current funders and donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and support. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing the donor pipeline, fostering new relationships, and supporting our strategic pillars, including One health, one medicine, sustainability and AI initiatives.
About you
You have fundraising experience and are familiar with working with a range of donors from individuals through to trust and foundations. You possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors. You are adept at strategic thinking and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. You are proactive, resourceful, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your dedication and enthusiasm will ensure the continued success of our fundraising efforts in the long-term or during the maternity cover period.
How to apply
Please apply online. If you have any queries please contact Amintha Buckland, Head of Philanthropy (a.buckland@surrey.ac.uk) or Chris Stevens, Senior Advancement Manager (c.stevens@surrey.ac.uk) or Hannah Whitaker, Advancement Manager (h.whitaker@surrey.ac.uk).
First round interviews will take place on Thursday 16 August and second round interviews on Tuesday 20 August. All interviews will be in person in Guildford. Early applicants may be invited to interview earlier than the given timescale.
