Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a 0.4FTE Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Professor Vicki Goodwin. This NIHR funded post is available from 1st November 2024 for one year. There may be the possibility of further extension at a later date, subject to funding. The successful applicant will recruiting older people living with heart failure and frailty into a randomised controlled trial of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment compared with usual care to sustain independence (CHART trial).
The post will include screening, gaining informed consent and collecting questionnaire data from participants in their own homes in the Devon area.
About you
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of randomised controlled trials to work within the research programme. Applicants will have experience of working with older people in a community setting.
The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively, present information on research and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. The will need to able to manage competing research and administrative demands and deadlines and be able to travel between research sites and visit participants in their own homes around Devon.
