Brunel Composites Centre (BCC) is a Cambridge-based research and technology centre that sits between the knowledge base and industry offering high quality research in an innovative environment focused on physicochemical phenomena that take place at the interface of polymer matrix composite materials. A collaboration between Brunel University London and TWI Ltd, BCC has been awarded funding to work with companies across Europe and UK in the aerospace, automotive, construction and engineering sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding, highly motivated, and enthusiastic candidate with knowledge and technical expertise in using composites to generate, transport, and/or store hydrogen to support energy transition to join our team in Cambridge.
The objective of the post is to characterise thermoset and thermoplastic polymer matrices and composites in a number of environments and study diffusion, aging and permeation phenomena. Modelling of composites mechanical performance in a number of environments is linked to the above objective.
