The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate. You will undertake a 28-month collaborative project between AIE Ltd and Brunel University London. The post will be based predominantly at the company’s premises in Lichfield where you will deliver the project and transfer knowledge between the university and company. The project will be focused on development and delivery of a new range of rotary engines operating on biofuels. The role will be to develop 1D and 3-D CFD analytical models with the support of academics from Brunel University London before moving into the design and development of the engine hardware, followed by physical testing to correlate the models.

The KTP is led from the Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences which is a leading and distinctive STEM education and knowledge provider, and a leading multidisciplinary research-intensive college for excellence in research and innovation in engineering, design, computer science and mathematics. The Candidate
You will be a graduate in mechanical engineering, ideally in internal combustion engines with a masters or good (1st or 2:1) first degree. Ideally you will have background knowledge and experience in
