We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to the position of Director of Sport. You will:

  • Lead the University's Sports Service and, working in collaboration with the 31 Colleges, 77 University sports clubs and other Divisions, be responsible for the provision and development of sport and physical activity for students, staff and the wider community.
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of the Sport and Physical Activity strategy and for overseeing the development and management of our extensive sports facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, from the 31 Colleges to national and international sports organisations, and ensure that the Sports Service continues to generate and reinvest income to sustain and improve its offerings.

You will be an established leader in sports and physical activity with a proven record of strategic and financial management. You will bring a deep understanding of the student and national sport, physical activity, and wellbeing landscape, and experience of developing major sports facilities. You will be an outstanding communicator, able to build consensus, forge new partnerships and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders. You will also bring a collaborative and inclusive management style and a focus on developing others.
